Donuts
Corn Fritters,

1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 c. canned corn
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
2 tsp. melted fat

Beat the egg and add remaining ingredients.
Beat well,drop by spoonfuls into hot fatand cook until golden brown.
Time in frying 3 minutes.
Temperature 380

Nut Doughnuts

1 1/4 c.Sugar
4 tblsp crisco
1 1/2 c milk
2 eggs
4 tsp baking powder
1c chopped english walnut meats
1tsp vanilla extract
1tsp lemon extract
1/2 tsp salt
flour to make soft dough

here are the instructions

Cream crisco and sugar together then add eggs well beaten,milk,salt,extract
add in dry ingredients and enough flour to make soft dough...GUESS....lol

Roll out,cut with cutter and fry in hot crisco to a golden colour.
Sift with cinnamon sugar
Raised Doughnuts

1 c.Milk
1/4 yeast cake
1/4 c.Lukewarm water
1 1/2 tsp.Salt
1 c.Sugar
1/4 c.Crisco
2 eggs
1 tsp.Grated nutmeg
Flour

Dissolve Yeastcake in lukewarm water,
Scal Milk and cool,Then add yeast,half tsp of the salt,and flour to make a drop batter.
Set in a cozy place  to rise.
Cream Crisco with sugar,add eggs well beaten,remainder of salt and nutmeg,add to yeast mixture with enough flour to make stiff dough;let rise again.
When risen,place in Criscoed pan to rise.Whenlight drop into plenty of hot Crisco and cook from 4 to 5 minutes until doughnuts are done.
Drain onto soft paper and dredge with Powdered Sugar.

Butter Horns

2 tsp. Yeast

1 tsp. Salt

4 1/2 c. Flour

1/2 c. Melted Crisco

1/4 c. Sugar

3 egg well beaten

1 c. Scalded Milk

Directions:

Activate yeast in lukewarm milk and let
stand 30 minutes.

In mixer bowl add milk,salt,sugar and
eggs.

Add flour a little at a time and mix well
after each addition until the dough is
stiff enough to knead on floured surface.

Knead until soft and elastic.

Cover with damp cloth and set in warm
space to rise until doubled in size.

Knead again and rise a second time.

Turn onto lightly floured board and roll
out in a circular shape.

Cut into sections as you would a pie then
roll outer edge towards center and make
crescents.

Place in well greased pans then cover
and let rise again.

Bake @ 450f. 12-15 minutes

Make butter icing and coat when still warm
