Ingredients:

1 bag mini marshmallows
1/2 bag white chocolate
2 boxes Dots gumdrops
2 tbsp butter
Bowl of powdered sugar
Instructions:
Put butter in bottom of double boiler,
Add White chocolate
let melt,then add marshmallows and let melt.
Finally add Gumdrops all the while stirring constantly.
Prepare pan with parchment paper,pour nougat into pan and make even,
place in fridge for 24 hours.
Pull from fridge and remove from pan.
Cut into bite size pieces,roll into powdered sugar to remove stickiness.
Wrap individually in plastic wrap...store in cool place.

Oven Scones

4c flour sifted
5 tbsp crisco
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 egg
sweet milk

Rub crisco finely into flour,add sugar,salt,soda and cream of tartar.
beat egg,put half of it into cup,then with one half and some sweet milk make other ingredients into soft dough. Knead very little onto floured baking board,divide into 5 pieces,make them smooth and roll out,not too thinly,cut them into 4 small cakes. Lay them onto criscoed tin,brush over with remaining egg and bake in hot oven ten minutes. A few currants or raisins may be added if liked. Sufficient for 20 small scones.

Orange Pie

2 c. Orange Juice
1 1/2 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Flour
4 egg yolks
2 tsp. butter
3 tbsp. Lemon Juice

Heat orange juice in a double boiler,add sugar flour and egg yolks mixed together.
Cook for 15 miutes stirring constantly until thickened.
Add butter and lemon juice and cool slightly.
Turn into a baked pastry shell,cover with a meringue made with 2 of the egg whites and 1/4 c. sugar and brown in a moderate oven.
20 minutes @ 325f.
Apricot Tarts

2 c. flour
1/2 c. Crisco
4 tbsp. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 egg
2 tsp.Vanilla Extract
1 tsp. Baking Powder
Apricot jam or jelly
Whipped cream
Angelica
Preserved Cherries

Rub Crisco into flour,Add salt,sugar and baking powder.
Whip egg then add into mix,then add vanilla.
Roll out and cut with cutter and line greased tins with the rounds.
Line with paper and fill with rice to keep from rising.
Bake in hot oven 20 minutes,remove rice and papers.
When pastries are cold put in each one of them apricot jam.
Fill with whipped cream and decorate with cherries or angelica.
Makes 30 tarts

Roast Turkey

1 quart fine breadcrumbs
4 tbsp. crisco
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. chopped onion
1 lemon
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp white pepper
1 egg
1 c. country sausage
A little warm water
1 turkey
salt pork

Mix sausage with breadcrumbs,add egg well beaten,crisco,seasonings,grated rind and strained juice of lemon,and moisten with a little warm water.
Dont make stuffing too moist.
Fill breast with stuffing.
Place 2 strips of salt pork in bottom of pan,put in turkey.
Place 2 strips of salt pork on breast and sprinkle with a bit of flour.
Roast in hot oven,15 min per lb.
Baste with melted crisco
Cranberry Molds

1 quart washed cranberries
2 c. Sugar
1 c. Cold Water

In pot place cranberries and pour sugar over them then add cold water and bring to a boil,cover and cook 10 minutes without stirring.
Remove Scum and pour into cups to jelly

Serves a family of 4 or two big guys.

Corn Fritters,

1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 c. canned corn
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
2 tsp. melted fat

Beat the egg and add remaining ingredients.
Beat well,drop by spoonfuls into hot fatand cook until golden brown.
Time in frying 3 minutes.
Temperature 380
16 fritters
Baked Applesauce

12 tart cooking apples

1/2 c. White sugar

1/8 tsp. Salt

1/2 tsp. Nutmeg

1/2 tsp. Cinnamon

Directions:

Wash,peel,core and divide into eighths.

Place in baking pan and half cover with
cold water.

Add in seasonings

Cover with foil and bake at
350 f.--2 1/2 hours to 3 hours.

Remove and mash....

Serves Momma and 3 little ones

Deviled Sardines

Skin sardines.

Split and bone

Spread mustard on inside with a pinch
of cayenne. Put back together.

Roll in bread crumbs

Dip in egg ,roll in crumbs again

Deep fry in pan 375f. 2 minutes

Serve hot on buttered toast
Vegetable Peanut Butter Loaf

2 c. Cooked Lima beans

2 c. Carrots cooked

1 c. Bread crumbs

6 tbsp. Peanut butter

2 tbsp. Bacon fat

1/4 c. grated onion

1 tbsp. chopped parsley

1/2 tsp. celery salt

1 egg

3/4 c. Milk

Directions

chop beans and carrots and mix with
bread crumbs.

mix PB and bacon fat together then add.

Salt n pepper to taste.

Add egg and milk.

Pour into greased loaf pan and bake
until firm and brown.

Serve with white sauce

Bake 1 hour at 350f.
Quick Coffee Cake

2 c. flour

1/2 tsp. salt

3 tbsp. sugar

4 tsp. baking powder

2 tbsp. Crisco melted

1 c. milk

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients in bowl

Add melted shortening and enough milk
to make very stiff batter.

Mix well & spread in 9x9 greased pan.

Add Top mixture.

Bake in moderate oven (400f.) 30 minutes

Topping:

3 tbsp. flour

1 tbsp. cinnamon (3 tsp.)

3 tbsp. sugar

3 tbsp. Crisco

Mix dry ingredients and rub in Crisco
and spread thick over top of dough
before baking.
